Emmaus is a ministry whose stated purpose is to reveal Messiah through the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms. This is an Old Testament focus to
understand our faith in this New Covenant. The Apostle Paul said the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. Jesus on the road to Emmaus used
concepts from the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms to bring to life the role of the Messiah that he would fulfill. Emmaus deals with the workings of our
faith. How could a Passover crucifixion 2,000 years ago set us free from sin? Why was the Spirit sent on Pentecost? Why is Jesus called the Lamb of God?
And why is the blood of the Lamb so vital to our faith? Jesus used the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms to open the understanding of the
Scriptures to the twelve in an upper room after His resurrection. Emmaus continues this opening of the understanding of our Old Testament scriptures. |
