Pastor Jim and Kathy Moore

Pastor Moore has served as our Senior Pastor since July of 1988. He received God's calling to be a pastor in junior high school, and has served as a pastor for nearly 30 years. Shortly after high school he served in the U.S. Navy Sea Bees. He spent 2 years in active duty during Vietnam, and 2 years in the reserves. He received his Baccalaureate in Pastoral Studies at Christian Life College. He also completed an intensive study through Berean Bible School, now known as Global University. He and his wife Kathy, have been married for 37 years. They have three beautiful daughters, and three grandchildren, all whom are currently serving the Lord. Kathy has been a strong part of his ministry in prayer as well as in serving the congregation. Pastors Jim and Kathy Moore have both completed two years of Church Leadership Training through the Illinois District Council of the Assemblies of God (IDCAG).

Their vision is for Riverside Assembly to be:

  • A church where all people will be and feel welcome.
  • A church that loves and lives like Jesus.
  • A church that looks outside of itself, at how it can serve not only the surrounding community, but the nation.
  • A church that is strong in discipleship, meeting the needs of all who have a desire to learn and grow in Christ.

Pastor Truman Turner has served as an Associate Pastor at Riverside Assembly, since July of 2002. He is in charge of our Senior Adult and Pastoral Care Ministries. He was called to be a pastor in 1957, and has served as a pastor for over 40 years. In 1959, he started a church, that still stands today. He completed a three year study through the Berean Bible School, in Springfield, Missouri. He became an ordained pastor May 15, 1963. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He spent one year in Korea, and one year in Fort Hood, Texas. He and his wife Patsy, have been married for over 50 years. Pasty has assisted pastor Turner, through being a prayer warrior. They have three children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom are currently serving the Lord. Their son serves as an Associate Pastor at his church. Their son-in-law and daughter, serve as Senior Pastors of their church. Pastor Turner's ministry consists of visiting those in need — whether that be in the hospital, nursing home, or jail. He ministers at the Sunday night services, as well as the Wednesday morning Bible Study. His heart for the church is to see souls saved.
